Why You MUST NOT Skip The Vet Check!
It's a vital part of your behavioural support program. Your dog might not get over their struggles without it!
Hi Gang
I always make a point of asking new 121 clients when their last vet check was. Mostly during our discovery call, before a client has even booked a session with me, I will tell them to get a vet check done. Sometimes I am met with a groan, because it is more expense and inconvenient at a time when a dogparent has already probably been shelling out for all kinds of things in an attempt to “fix” their dog’s issues.
But there is a blooming good reason for this, and you should not skip the vet check EVER!
If there are ever any behaviour changes, or a behaviour worsens, or reward-based training and Fun Not Fear® behavioural support is not helping - then you NEED to take your dog to the vet. If they do not give you a satisfactory answer to your dog’s struggles, get a second opinion.
Your dog can’t tell you something hurts. Their natural instincts tell them to hide it when something is not right. So they only have you to be their voice and end their suffering.
Here is the post I saw on Facebook today, leading to tonight’s topic in the video below.
